New Ruminant Antimicrobial Susceptibility Panel

New Ruminant Antimicrobial Susceptibility Panel

The Bacteriology laboratory is offering a new antimicrobial susceptibility panel for organisms isolated from bovine, porcine and other ruminant animal samples, starting in April 2018. This updated panel includes testing for the new antibiotics Gamithromycin and Tildipirosin. This panel also features updated breakpoint ranges for tilmicosin, tulathromycin and tiamulin to meet the latest standards designated by CLSI, and consolidation of tetracycline agents.

Please refer to this chart for currently available antimicrobial panels offered at the Animal Health Diagnostic Center.

Note: Cefoxitin, ceftiofur, ticarcillin, and ticarcillin/clavulanic acid have been removed from the companion animal susceptibility panels.
