Cost/Fee: $36.75
Comment: This is a test to detect M. cynos which may be identified in dogs during outbreaks of acute respiratory disease. Specimens should be collected early after signs of respiratory illness appear, preferably within the first 3 days. Testing may be most appropriate for situations where animals housed together are sequentially contracting acute respiratory disease.

This service is performed pursuant to an agreement with Roche Molecular Systems.

Lab Section: Molecular Diagnostics

Description: The test is primarily designed for identification of M. cynos in dogs with acute respiratory disease. It uses the RT-qPCR molecular method to amplify and detect a short region from the intergenic region between the 16S and 23S ribosomal RNA genes.
