Influenza In Cats

An influenza virus has been identified as the cause of respiratory disease in cats in a NYC shelter. The virus, an H7N2 subtype, has never been seen in cats previously. It is believed that this is a very local outbreak and is associated with the Animal Care Center shelter system in NYC. It is not believed that this virus is widespread in the feline population.
